How to reach us/directions

You have many options to get to the Pfingstegg Cable car bottom station:

- Car: Definitely the easiest way. The village Grindelwald is situated in the Bernese Oberland, around half an hour away from Interlaken (motorway). There you have to take the exit Wilderswil, showing the directions Lauterbrunnen/Grindelwald already on the sign. After this you have to follow the main road through the village Wilderswil and along the river Lütschine to Zweilütschinen, where you have to leave this road at the cross towards the valley on your left side, following the arrow showing to Grindelwald. Following this main road again through three small villages until you reach the village sign of Grindelwald/Schwendi, where you have to slow down to 50 and get over the speed bump on the street. Through the village you will reach first thing a round about where you take the second exit passing the main train station and many shops and restaurants. The shopping center and big car parking is just at the start of the big s shaped main street with concrete walls to your sides. At the end of the shopping part of the main street the street goes down a fairly steep hill and you see the brown sign saying Pfingstegg to your left, pointing to turn right into another street. At the end of this street you see all the parking places and you have to feed the parking meter with some coins before you leave your car. At the upper parking you can pay by credit card. Depending on the time of the year and the time of the day, sometimes there will be limited space for parking. In this case you might have to park in the car parking at the town center or at the other cable car stations (Grund or Männlichen).

- Public transport: Coming from Interlaken East with the train (BOB Bernese Oberland Bahn), be careful to get the one that will go to Grindelwald not Lauterbrunnen (same train different waggons sometimes) you will be able to reach us in 45 minutes. In Grindelwald at the main train station you get the bus number 122 to the bus stop Pfingstegg in direction Gletscherschlucht. If you walk from the train station it takes about 15 minutes all along the main road until you get to the downhill spot with the brown sign pointing to your right to leave the main street. The other way is to take the buses nr. 121,123 to the church and then follow the street down on your right 200 m until you reach our bottom station.

- By foot: There are plenty amazing hiking trails to be discovered. The best idea is to get the right hiking map at Grindelwaldsports.ch next to the shopping centre, so you will always find the way you want to find.
